The rowan berries for this brandy come from mountain ash from the highlands of Styrian mountain pastures. Only berries from wild plants are used, which are much more interesting for distilling than those of cultivated mountain ash. Because of their much lower sugar content, they bring much less yield, but they pass on the much more intense, powerful aroma of bitter almonds and marzipan to the distillate. This noble brandy is characterized by bitter spiciness and a subtle bitter almond tone, but also by its fine taste and long finish.
