Palm hearts are the delicate interior of the so-called vegetation cone - from which the roots of the palm fronds of different palm types are formed. Its fine taste is reminiscent of soured artichokes and goes well with salads and seafood dishes. They also taste excellent baked or with a bechamel sauce to cook cooked ham. The easiest way to serve them is to cut them in thick slices with vinegar and oil.
