Merula is called blackbird. And blackbirds live in the olive groves of the Marques, where the olives grow for this oil. They will be harvested a little later. That is why there are ripe olives, fruits and vegetables in the nose. The mild, buttery oil tastes of ripe fruits, almonds and olives. The distinctive, lithographed tin has become a trademark and protects the oil in the best possible way from light.
