Ginger root, fresh

Ground ginger is available in every kitchen, but fresh ginger is rare. Many hearty and sweet dishes gain a special, slightly exotic flavor thanks to their typical, hot, slightly sweet aroma. Especially many Far Eastern dishes are unthinkable without fresh ginger. Use: For fruit salads, meat dishes; in the far eastern kitchen for inserting and candying.
