Murray River Salt is made of subtle, peach-colored crystals. The flakes have a mild taste and are ideal for seasoning. The trick: This salt is only tasted in the background, it raises the taste of the goose liver. The flakes are melting between the fingers. The Murray River is the largest river in Australia. In its course, it flows through landscapes with elevated salt deposits. The Murray-Darling Basin, with its low rainfall and high degree of evaporation, is an ideal place to extract high salt groundwater. The color of the salt obtained from this natural brine comes from separate red pigments (carotene) of salt-tolerant algae.
