The acai puree from Ponthier is unsweetened, certified organic and comes in a 1kg stand-up pouch with a resealable screw cap. The acai berries are the fruits of the cabbage palm called Jucara, Assai palm or acai and grows in the Amazon, among other places. The fruits are approx. 1-1.4cm in size. The seeds of the acai berry are inedible, so only the pulp and skin are eaten. The taste of the berry is nutty and earthy, not sweet as one would expect when eating berries.
