Lavender is native to the Mediterranean and is often pulled into gardens. Dried, the flowers lose some of their blue color, but they retain their strong aromatic smell. Lavender is typical of the southern French cuisine and mainly used only for robust dishes. Since the intense smell and taste dominates, should be carefully dosed during seasoning. Together with garlic, lavender flowers are also ideal with cheese, especially with mold cheese.
