Curry leaves come from the curry tree of the same name and are not to be confused with curry powders, which are produced as spice blends. The smell and taste of curry leaves is fresh and pleasant and reminiscent of mandarin. They are used in the kitchens of southern India and Sri Lanka and flavor rice and lentil dishes particularly well.
