Caraway has a fairly typical aromatic smell and a slightly spicy taste. It is milder than cumin, but more intense than dill. Its aroma unfolds best when the spice simmer in the grasses. In India, you spice up curries, lentil dishes and rice. In Eastern Europe and Germany, cumin is traditionally used for meat products, sauerkraut, fish, potato salad, baked goods and apple compote. The caraway seeds season in the Arabic kitchen salads, Mechoui lamb dishes and meat skewers.
