This jungle pepper is a specialty from the Periyar National Park in the state of Kerala in southern India. Aromatic, traditional pepper varieties that are threatened with extinction are cultivated and harvested here by indigenous peoples who still live in tribal communities without chemicals and according to Ecoland organic guidelines. With an extraordinarily high content of essential oils, this vintage pepper offers a very intense, noble aroma. The pepper is similar to Vietnamese pepper, slightly flowery, but with an even stronger pepper note. With beef, game, dark soups and sauces, with lettuce and tomato - wonderful!
