The base cuvee of the house consists of half Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. Fine mousse, on the palate an interesting mix of yellow-fruity aromas combined with a slight smokiness. Originating from two offspring of well-known winegrower families on the Cote des Blancs, Anne Gonet and Philippe Gimonnet founded their own champagne house Gimonnet-Gonet in 1986. Starting with 5 hectares, the family now owns 13.5 hectares, 6 of them in the best Grand Cru locations of the Cote de Blancs in the municipalities of Mesnil-sur Oger, Chouilly, Cramant and Oger. Her son Charles has been running the estate in a proven manner since 2012. The vines have a minimum age of 40 years, all qualities are aged in steel tanks and, depending on the quality, ripen for 3-6 years on the lees. All champagnes have the minerality and saltiness typical of the Cote des Blancs. They need air to breathe for some time and should be drunk from large glasses. Then unfold their full size.
