2018er St. Remigiusberg, Riesling, dry, 12.5% vol., Tesch (orange capsule)
This is one of the smallest single vineyard sites in the Nahe region and is located directly next to the Karthauser vineyard. Weathered volcanic rock and iron-rich clay characterize the soil. The combination of these conditions regularly results in the lowest yields with the highest extract. A lush fruitiness, increasingly reminiscent of tangerines as it ripens. A dense, elegant structure makes the Riesling wines unmistakably silky yet vibrant. Historically, the St. Remigiusberg vineyard connects us to the Benedictine monks who were active in Laubenheim and commemorates their Prince-Abbot of Reims, who was canonized after his death.
