Meadowsweet (when it is mowed it smells sweet) thrives as a perennial on streams and blooms in August. For us a beguiling fragrance component in connection with the cherry. Smell: Ethereal, dense nose of meadowsweet, juniper and dark-fruity cherry. Red peppers, smoky nuances, tobacco and wood are reminiscent of a dense Blaufränkisch. Taste: Strong dark berries underlaid with earthy notes and lots of extract. Smoky notes accompany the fine but lasting tannin. Dry with a long finish.
