Jose Luis` small family business cultivates 25 hectares of land in the heart of Extremadura and grows vegetables of excellent quality without using chemicals or pesticides. The family puts a lot of work into cultivating the arable land so that the resulting soil quality ensures a high quality harvest. The pimientos are harvested by hand between the end of August and mid-November. The quality of the individual pods is checked both directly in the field and during further processing in the El Carrascal factory. This double check ensures that only the best pimientos are processed. The pods are then briefly roasted in a small, handmade oven (80 cm in diameter) and then peeled by hand with a great deal of experience and passion. 100% handwork and tradition! The cans are filled with 12-18 pimientos each, preserved in their own juice. The Pimientos of the Piquillo variety are fine, mild and are characterized by a certain sweetness. The light, fine smoky note gives them a special and delicious taste nuance. Ideal as a tapa, refined with a little olive oil, salt and pepper. The pimientos are ideal for filling, for example with minced meat or cod. A bright red delight, a must for piquillo lovers!
