Salsa Verde, green, very good with tortilla chips

The Mexican tomatillo is a nightshade and is related to the Physalis. At first you could almost mistake the Tomatillo for a green tomato. The subtle difference is that the tomatillo is and remains green. In its country of origin, Mexico, the tomatillo is an important component of the famous salsa verde. The Mexican-style green salsa consists of green tomatoes, onions, chili peppers and coriander greens. The jalapeno chilies give this salsa a pleasant, spicy taste and is ready to use immediately.
