Rectangular baking wafers, popularly known as edible paper, are thin baking pads made from wheat flour and starch. They are baked between pickled slabs or molds and then cut into appropriate rectangular or round slabs. Wafers are primarily used as a base for honey, gingerbread and gingerbread, macaroons or confectionery. They make greasing the oven trays unnecessary and prevent burning and soaking.
