In 1910, the master butcher Karl and his wife Johanna Handlmeier founded their own butcher shop in Regensburg. But Johanna Handlmaier wanted to offer her customers something very special to go with the sausages she made herself - so the sweet home-made mustard was invented by Johanna Handlmaier in 1914, laying the foundation for the company. It is unimaginable today that the mustard was still made in a large pot in the butcher`s kitchen, as it is a Bavarian original that simply goes with white sausages.
