It is a steep south-west slope with no other mountain in front to block the sun. The soil consists largely of a coarse, scree-like Devonian slate. The plots of the 5-hectare property there are mostly in the middle, i.e. in the fillet of the mountain. The wines that grow in the Ockfener Bockstein are characterized by a special, mineral character and a fine spiciness. They are probably the most distinctive and polished wines of the winery.
