Thick, juicy and elegant - these three words best describe the Spätlese from the Ockfener Bockstein. Meadow flowers, ripe, yellow fruits from the homeland and mineral-earthy aromas ensure that the wine is not lacking in tension, complexity and depth. Thanks to ripe citrus and grapefruit aromas, the wine remains fresh and lively despite its fruity-sweet character. Thanks to its impressive sophistication, this Riesling is the ideal complement to Asian cuisine. 93 points Wine Spectator. The Ockfener Bockstein is located in a side valley of the Saar. It is a steep south-west slope with no other mountain in front to block the sun. The soil consists largely of a coarse, scree-like Devonian slate. The plots of the 5-hectare property there are mostly in the middle, i.e. in the fillet of the mountain. The wines that grow in the Ockfener Bockstein are characterized by a special, mineral character and a fine spiciness. They are probably the most distinctive and polished wines of the winery.
