At first glance, this product could be mistaken for a fashionable bouillon cube. Once you`ve used this all-natural spice paste, the irony quickly vanishes. Umami, the fifth taste alongside sour, sweet, bitter and salty, was defined in Japan; a flavor most easily found in beef broth. The paste was developed by Laura Santtini, an Italian-born Londoner. She recommends seasoning food with it just before serving.
