Lavender is native to the Mediterranean region and is often grown in our gardens. When dried, the flowers lose some of their blue color, but retain their strong aromatic smell. Lavender is typical of southern French cuisine and can only be used for robust dishes. Since the intense smell and taste dominates, the seasoning should be used carefully. Together with garlic, lavender flowers also go well with cheese, especially molded cheese.
