DE-ÖKO-039 This is a mash-fermented white wine. The white wine is produced like a red wine. This means that the grapes were destemmed - the berries are separated from the stalk in this process - and then fully fermented. So also with the bowls. This is an ancient method of white winemaking originating in Georgia and Armenia. The wines are then unfiltered, unfined and bottled with little or no sulphur. For this reason, small turbidities or precipitations can occasionally occur in the wine. This is a completely natural process that does not affect the quality of the wine in any way. Not least because of the colour, nowadays these wines are also called »Orange Wines«. The »Orange« Rheingau country wine dry NV presents itself in the glass as a clear golden yellow to orange. The nose is initially dominated by ripe tropical fruits, which are complemented by vegetal notes and light roasted aromas. Fresh herbs such as thyme accompany the complex olfactory impression. The fruity aromas also continue on the palate, with fresh citrus notes of ripe grapefruit and Rangpur lime increasingly in the foreground. In addition, there are slightly earthy aromas and a hint of cedar. The finish is accompanied by a gentle acidity, which underlines the fresh character of the `Orange` and gives it a pleasant drinking flow.
