This plum liqueur with its beautiful traditional sweetness is made from sake/rice wine. This gives it a more elegant taste and the natural aroma of the Japanese ume plum comes through well. You can enjoy this umeshu at room temperature, well chilled or on the rocks. Poured over a dry sparkling wine, you can create a fine Kir Japonais. Mixed with shoyu for dips and marinades with a fruity ume aroma. Suien - `Drunken Garden` is a traditional brewery with over 200 years of tradition from Nagano Prefecture. The small town of Azumino is famous for some of the best wasabi in Japan. Wasabi only grows in very clear, fresh water and that is exactly what Suien brews its sake from.
