This plum liqueur with its beautiful traditional sweetness is made with a sake/rice wine base. As a result, it has a more elegant taste and the natural aroma of the Japanese ume plum comes into its own. This umeshu can be enjoyed at room temperature, well chilled, or on-the-rocks. Infused with a dry sparkling wine, you can create a fine Kir Japonais. Mixed with Shoyu for dips and marinades with a fruity ume aroma. Suien - `Drunken Garden` is a traditional brewery with over 200 years of tradition from Nagano Prefecture. The small town of Azumino is famous for some of the best wasabi in Japan. Wasabi only grows in very clear, fresh water and this is exactly what Suien uses to brew its sake.
