The soils of the Stielweg site are quite heavy and characterized by loam interspersed with fine lime particles. The vines for the old vines are around 60 years old. Due to the old age, the berries of the grapes are very small and concentrated. The hand-picking did not take place until the beginning of November in order to be able to harvest fully ripe berries with extract and complexity. The 2018 already shows power paired with elegance. The acidity is bright and gives the wine a lot of play. The wine was aged in large, tasteless wooden barrels.
