The Cerons 2016 has a remarkable balance between freshness and complexity with aromas of bitter orange and spices. It is elegant with a long finish. The Chateau de Cerons has been owned by the Perromat family since 1958. It covers around 26 hectares of vineyards in the Bordeaux appellation Cerons, which borders Sauternes and is also known for the production of noble sweet plants. The wines grow on mixed gravel soil with sand and small stones based on marine limestone subsoil. The main grape variety is Semillon with 80%, supplemented by smaller proportions of Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. The wine is stored in barriques for 18 months. The Chateau de Cerons is considered the number one in Cerons.
