Highly mineral, yellow-fleshed and precise Riesling from the cult Palatinate site Saumagen. The taste and aromas are as full of character as the soil on which the vines stand. Powerful Riesling with a mineral structure, yet rich in finesse with intense scents of vineyard peach, apricot, sweet melon and mango, backed by the typical herbal spice of the Saumagen Rieslings. This scent continues in the taste and is rounded off by a delicate, melting fruit sweetness. The Saumagen is one of the most famous Riesling sites in the world. The site has the status of a Grosses Gewachs (Grand Cru). The terroir is a spectacular mixture of white and red soil, i.e. Terra Fusca in the topsoil and massive limestone rock in the subsoil. Sun-drenched southeast-facing slope at the foot of the Palatinate Forest.
