2019 red wine cuvee, dry, 14% vol., Finca Villacreces

A cuvee of 86% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Merlot. 14 months of maturation in French barriques, on the palate mocha, toasted bread, cassis and blueberries, lovely spice with well-integrated tannins, full-bodied and long-lasting in the mouth. 91 points Wine Spectator, 92/100 Parker points, 93 points Guia Penin. The young winery was only founded in 1994 and is a direct neighbor of the legendary Vega Sicilia winery. Only red wine is produced on the Finca Villacreces. The 60 hectares of vineyards were planted in the 1970s and are 80% planted with Tempranillo, which is called Tinto Fino there, the rest is Cabernet Sauvignon with 15% and Merlot with 5%. The wines are aged in barriques from two important French coopers.
