The nose has yellow fruits, floral notes and a light toasty note. The taste is mineral, beautifully fruity, full-bodied and elegant. Johanniskreuz is considered the birthplace of the Palatinate Forest and is located on a mountain saddle between Hammertal and Schwarzbach. The oaks were felled at this historic site at an age of 250-300 years for the single barrels (1,200 liters) and made using traditional methods. These now serve as storage for some of Schneider`s best Chardonnay batches. The wine was matured in 1,200 liter single barrels.
