Pinot Blanc from vineyards in the communities of Wawern and Wiltingen with a dry taste profile, deep slate weathered soils with proportions of sand, limestone and quartz porphyry of volcanic origin. A great Burgundy from the slate of the Saar? For a long time, Van Volxem found it difficult to accept a grape variety other than Riesling. But the tradition of being the first Pinot Blanc winery on the Saar has been continued and with its own style of a moderately alcoholic, perfect food accompaniment, a completely new interpretation of this classic grape variety has been created. Time and again, it amazes one what happens when old Burgundy vines and perfect climatic conditions meet excellent steep slate slopes. Tiny yields of golden Burgundy berries create a full-bodied, silky wine that unfolds on the palate a sea of aromas of ripe exotic fruits, stimulating spring blossoms and the finest precious wood notes. With its moderate acidity, it is a great accompaniment not only to Provencal cuisine.
