The terroir of the barren, gray rubble of this dramatically steep slate wall and the ripest harvest of each year result in an almost athletic-looking wine of perfect harmony with a never-ending finish! In addition to the white pepper, the nose is dominated by the intense and at the same time animating scent of fully ripe vineyard peaches, cherries and mirabelle plums. Thanks to its homeopathically low yield, the Altenberg has a wonderfully subtle extract sweetness that gives it a challenging depth and size.
