2021 Sauvignon Blanc 500, dry, 12.5% vol., Von Winning

A selection of spectacular 500l wooden barrels in which the Sauvignon Blanc was spontaneously fermented. This wine electrifies with a demanding precision, with racy, Burgundian chalky minerality and juicy elderberry aromas, ripe gooseberries and enormous spice of coffee and roasted hazelnuts. Elegance, fruit, everything in abundance. The winery was called Dr. Deinhard for over 90 years and has been using its historical name again since the change of ownership in 2007. With 80% of the area under cultivation, the focus is clearly on Riesling, but Sauvignon Blanc is also gaining in importance.
