Kunstler harvests the grapes from the top locations west of Hochheim, which are among the warmest in the Rheingau due to their exposed locations near the confluence of the Main and Rhine. After the maceration period, the wine was aged in small French wood and in traditional barrels. It has a deep ruby red color. Notes of wild cherry and black currant can be tasted on the palate. The still powerful and fine-grained tannins support the wine. Gunter Kunstler has been running the business since 1992 with top locations in Hochheim and Rudesheim, which are mainly planted with old vines.
