The name Holle does not come from the afterlife, but is derived from the old Middle High German word Halde / a, meaning steep mountain. This pure south-facing slope stretches like a long belt directly along the banks of the Main. The vines, which are around 50 years old, grow on very heavy clay soils, which always make the wines appear monumental. Very fine peach notes with a mineral spiciness that become more intense with air. Opulent aftertaste in the mouth, dense and powerful, yet almost playful thanks to the very fine acidity. Crystal-clear fruit, racy on the palate. Finely juicy length, lots of inner strength, great sustainability with the best balance. All of the 21 Grosse Gewachse were bottled with screw caps at Kunstler.
