The champagne is an assemblage of 50% Pinot Noir and 50% Chardonnay from the 2016 vintage. The vineyards of Champagne Louise Brison are located at around 320 meters above sea level and are characterized by Kimmeridge limestone and marl with a layer of clay - similar to the neighboring Chablis. The base wine was fermented in barriques and the assemblage was brought together in stainless steel. The 2016 vintage smells of meadow orchards, ripe citrus fruits with grated zest, a hint of candied ginger and white flowers. The autolysis notes are very subtle here and are reminiscent of almond biscuits and puff pastry. Nevertheless, the wine already seems pleasantly dry in its aroma. On the palate, it offers an elegant opening with ripe white-fleshed and citrus fruit, with a few red berries and the aforementioned fine pastries. This proves to be very skillful and very classic. The acidity is lively and provides pleasant pressure, the perlage is fine and the minerality brings tension to the champagne, where every sip represents joy.
