Erdener Pralat Riesling GG RESERVE Old Vines dry The Erdener Pralat is considered one of the very best locations in the Middle Moselle with its exceptional microclimate. The 100 to 120 year old, ungrafted plots are characterized by red, iron-rich slate, which was created by 800 degree hot volcanic activity. In principle, this is nothing other than oxidized blue slate. The Pralat is an extremely steep 100% south-facing vineyard location directly on the banks of the Moselle and is surrounded by a massive rock formation. The massive red slate rocks form a kind of amphitheater that encloses the 1.6 hectare vineyard, creating a particularly warm and exceptional microclimate.
