2023 Pouilly Fume, dry, 13% vol., H.Bourgeois

Pouilly-Fume is a Sauvignon Blanc with a slightly smoky note. On the palate you can find aromas of grapefruit, freshly mown grass and some linden blossom. Everything is underlined with the typical Bourgeois minerality. Great finale! The style of the house is rather traditional. Great importance is attached to minerality, as this reflects the magnificently different terroirs of the Loire. The fruit bombs that are so modern and filling these days are not found among these wines. The Sancerre and Pouilly Fume from Bourgeois are also characterized - in contrast to most other producers - by their very good storage capacity. The premium series do not even show their best bloom until the third or fourth year. The Pouilly Fume was still called En Travertin until the 2022 vintage. This addition has been omitted from the 2023 vintage.
