Ledaig Gordon and MacPhail 2001 / 2023 Mull Single Malt Whiskey 57.7% Vol

An unusually mature Ledaig that the independent bottler Gordon and MacPhail has bottled here for its Connoisseurs Choice series in cask strength. It is rare to get such old representatives of this brand in the glass. Ledaig (pronounced: Ladschak) is distilled at the Tobermory Distillery on the Isle of Mull and matured to perfection with a lot of experience. Ledaig is traditionally a strongly peaty representative among Scottish whiskies, which is immediately flattering to the nose with this bottling. The smoke is accompanied here by cocoa, vanilla and bacon, as well as herbal and earthy notes. These aromas are repeated on the palate and are complemented by beautiful sweetness and dates and sultanas on the finish. Technical data: Cask 279, Refill Sherry Butt, distilled in 2001, bottled December 8th, 2023. 465 bottles were bottled exclusively for the German market.
