It was distilled 600 meters above sea level: The Ardmore 2009 / 2023 was stored for 14 years in a sherry butt, pre-filled with the rare Palo Cortado style. On the nose: nut ham and subtle smoke against a background of fresh herbs, plus Demerara sugar. Full-bodied on the palate, strongly peaty and astringent. Again nut ham and sweetness, but more in the background. The aftertaste is long, dirty and peaty, with a subtle sweetness.
