2022 Handwerk Spatburgunder, dry, 11% vol. Bertram-Baltes

The wine has a ruby red color with violet reflections in the glass. The scent is best described as sweet cherry and cassis. The taste is fruity, fresh and with a very nice, playful length in the finish. Julia Bertram and Benny Baltes have been a couple for a long time and formed a dream team for years on the Klingenberg winery (later the Benedikt Baltes winery). Now they have decided to return to their home on the Ahr and concentrate fully on Julia`s parents` winery. The balancing act between Franconia and the Ahr was too great. Now they will implement their ideas of organic viticulture on the extremely steep slopes around Dernau. The conversion took place in the very first year; the goal is biodynamic certification and both dream of being able to realize a permaculture with sheep in the vineyard. The winery has some of the best locations on the Ahr and Benny conjures up very fine Pinot with depth, always balanced, never loud, but always full of expression and drinking pleasure.
