2022 Wurzburger Silvaner, dry, 11.5% vol., on the stone, ORGANIC

DE-OKO-022 The local wines come from the best vineyards within a town. They are ambassadors of the respective terroir. Regionally typical grape varieties and low harvest yields are prerequisites for these wines. The grapes come from the Wurzburger Stein, Kirchberg and Innere Leiste sites in the wine metropolis of Wurzburg. The raw material for the vineyard soils is the middle Muschelkalk, a sediment layer of calcareous algae and mussels. The clayey limestones formed over millions of years help the soil to retain heat well. The stony, slightly clayey loam is deep and has a good supply of humus. This leads to a balanced herbal spice, delicate fruit, chalky mineral and uncompromisingly dry. A fine acidity also keeps the wine fresh and provides nerve and balance. A picture-book Silvaner that proves why there is no culinary equation that this grape variety cannot solve.
