DE-OKO-039 The 2022 `Von Unserm` Rheingau Pinot Noir dry presents itself in the glass with a clear, cherry-red color. The nose is initially dominated by aromas of black currant, sour cherry and a hint of licorice. With the first sip, in addition to the distinctive cherry notes, slightly woody hints come to the fore, which pair with aromas of elderberry and cinnamon on the palate. A fine acidity accompanies the long finish and gives this Rheingau Pinot Noir an astonishing freshness. Behind the name `von unserm` is a history that is over 140 years old and is based on the beginnings of the winery. The founder of the winery, Balthasar Ress, owned a restaurant and grew his own vines on the side. He wanted to differentiate the wines he made himself from the other wines on his menu and gave them the name `von unserm`. Since then, a new wine has been produced every year that bears this name and today represents the winery`s liquid calling card.
