Mineral and salty on the nose, but also yellow fruits such as peach. Playful and elegant on the taste - a Riesling that dances on the tongue. Nice with asparagus, salads and poultry dishes. The vineyards of the Hofmann winery are in Appenheim in northern Rheinhessen. The best locations in Appenheim are geologically characterized by the foothills of the primeval sea, which created shell limestone soils. The Riesling comes from the shell limestone at the foot of the Westerberg. The limestone from which the soil developed are the remains of a calcareous algae reef. Other Riesling grapes come from the Niersteiner Roter Hang with red slate.
