The Chateau Le Bourdieu winery in the Medoc wine-growing region is classified as a Cru Bourgeois. The vineyard soils consist of gravel formations with sand and clay components, and are planted equally with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The chateau is located near the Gironde estuary. The river`s special climate ensures ideal growing conditions for the grapes and thus the quality of the wine. The grapes are aged for 12 months in 80% new barriques. The style of the wine is very soft, voluptuous, and seductively fruity, thanks in part to the relatively high Merlot content for the Medoc.
