2023 Pouilly Fume, dry, 13% vol., H.Bourgeois

Pouilly-Fume is a Sauvignon Blanc with a slightly smoky note. On the palate, there are aromas of grapefruit, freshly mown grass, and a hint of linden blossom. Everything is underpinned by the typical Bourgeois minerality. A fantastic finish! The house`s style is rather traditional. Great importance is placed on minerality, as it reflects the magnificently diverse terroirs of the Loire. These wines do not contain the fruit bombs that are so fashionable and filling these days. Bourgeois` Sancerre and Pouilly Fume are also characterized by their excellent aging potential-unlike those of most other producers. The premium series only reach their peak after the third or fourth year. Until the 2022 vintage, Pouilly Fume was still called En Travertin. This designation has been dropped from the 2023 vintage onwards.
