The Caberlot grape is a natural cross between Cabernet Franc and Merlot and has been cultivated exclusively at the Podere Il Carnasciale winery since 1986. This is why the winery`s flagship wine, Il Caberlot, was also named. The wine matures for 22 months in French barriques. Caberlot is one of Italy`s most famous wines. It is bottled only in magnum bottles and corked by hand. Only 2,300 bottles are sold annually. A true rarity. A wild, boisterous vintage with great complexity - the crisp fruit nestles against dense tannins and fully ripe elderberries, accompanied by black pepper, tobacco, and leather.
