DE-OKO-001 Hay milk cheese from the Geifertshofen village cheese dairy. The beautiful `Jungfer im Grunen` plant originates from the Orient, but is found in many farm gardens here. The seeds of black cumin (Nigella sativa - not to be confused with cumin or caraway) have a slightly nutty, sesame-like flavor. The deep black seeds contrast beautifully with the creamy yellow of the cheese. Their mildly spicy, crunchy, nutty flavor pairs harmoniously with the creamy cheese base. This interesting, delicious, and harmonious combination pairs well with a Montepulciano wine.
