DE-OKO-001 Amaranth is not a type of grain, but rather is the fine grains of a foxtail plant. The main growing areas extend from Europe to India. Amaranth contains a lot of high-quality protein, iron and calcium. The flour made from amaranth grains makes pastries moister and sweeter; it is used for cookies, pancakes or waffles. It is an excellent addition to grains, legumes, nuts and seeds; contains twice as much iron and four times as much calcium as durum wheat. Simmer with broth or milk for approx. 30-35 minutes.
