The Farfalle originally come from Lombardy and the Emilia region. They have the typical shape of a butterfly and are slightly compressed in the middle. They are approximately 41mm long and between 1.33 and 1.38mm thick. Delicate sauces are suitable for farfalle: they taste excellent with butter, peas and ham, with white, not too spicy sauces, such as salmon cream sauces, or sauces prepared with soft cheese and saffron or curry.
