Coriander is the peppercorn-sized fruit of an umbel plant native to the Mediterranean region. When dried, the fruits have a very aromatic smell and taste very spicy. This product is additionally ground. Coriander contains a lot of essential oil and is used as a household spice; for pickling, pickling cucumbers, rubbing pork before roasting and apple pies. Coriander is also used in the long-life baking industry for the production of pepper, honey and gingerbread.
