Kasumi Masterpiece Damascus knives are made of VG-10 cobalt high carbon steel. After forging the coveted and aesthetically pleasing Damszen pattern by folding the steel plies many times, the blade is again heated to approximately 800 ° C and rapidly cooled. This creates a Rockwell hardness of 59-60 C and the edge gets its extraordinary sharpness. The professional handle is made of duroplastic Leinen-hard resin, offers good dimensional stability and is safe and comfortable in the hand. Such a knife should always be washed off by hand. Regular sharpening with a combined grindstone is recommended, eg with K-11 240/1000 grit or for fine sanding and polishing K-12 3000/8000 grit.
