Long pepper is known as Bengali, Balinese, stick pepper or also as Jaborandi pepper. It comes from India and Indonesia and was already valued in Roman cuisine. No fear! The pepper`s spiciness lasts a maximum of 5 minutes. The smell is reminiscent of wood and chilies. The sticks should only be broken and ground or crushed in a mortar shortly before use. Tip: With its spiciness, long pepper goes well with Asian, Indian and sweet and sour dishes or in spice mixtures.
